I have been very fortunate with the South African medical and emergency services.
I have had the misfortune of needing 16 surgeries in the past few years. The old
Academic Hospital on Dr Savage Drive in
Pretoria was the first government hospital I went to for help.
A violent assault led to my abdominal muscles being ruined. At the
Academic
Hospital they not only saved my life but also redesigned a prosthesis, which would hold my intestines in place, although my body rejected this prosthesis, the Professors who practice at the Academic did not give up.
Other than the numerous surgeries, I received excellent care from everybody at the hospital, this ranges from the janitors to the nurses. I have profound respect for this hospital was with very little funds they do more than save lives; they give you kindness and expert care.
